| forget my tools, allowing
myself to get caught up in the physical world, and the project
or challenge I was facing didn't turn out the way I really
wanted it too. Then I look back at the tools I could have
used and try not to express myself with a resounding
"duh" and "what were you thinking?"
when clearly, I wasn't. Watching my child experience "today as a teenager"
is extremely more difficult than I thought it would be. We
as parents, never want to see our children in pain,
disappointment or feeling left out. On the flip side
of that, if they don't experience these things, they can't learn
from them. We can only hope we've given them tools that
will help them survive these "teenage years" with
grace and dignity. No parent wants to see their child get
caught up in negativity - and the negativity of today can easily
suck our children in. Sometimes I wonder if the struggles
of the teenage years can be summed up to one thing: Negativity
trying to suck them in and the God part of our children
struggling, fighting desperately to resist and maintain a
positive outlook.
This section of Soul Kisses is devoted to the teens. A
place for them to read tools put together by teens (and me,
because I couldn't stay out of it). If you have a tool
that would help or did help a fellow teen or a grandchild or
